My first animated film has been completed!
I say ‘my‘ as if I made it, and that’s far from the case. As I blogged on here before, I came up with the story and co-developed the script with the brilliant Rob Lancey.
And I produced it – under the banner of this blog (Piece of Pink Pie‘s first film credit) and my little business, Weltch Media.
But the people who have given A Fish Out of Water its distinctive look and sound are animator-director Matthew Creed, his crew of creatives (the core team was acknowledged in this earlier post, and you’ll find the full credits on the IMDb page), and the excellent cast of voice actors.
The cast is led by one of my all-time acting heroes Robert Daws and long-time friend of this blog, Francesca Louise White.
Last week (2 June), we held a private screening for cast, crew, and supporters at Chapter Arts Centre in Cardiff – a super occasion and a first chance for any of us to see the film on the big screen.
As we reported on the Weltch Media site, people loved it, and now we’re starting to enter festivals. If selected, that will mean more opportunities for people to see it.
Described as ‘a Victorian tale of the fantastical and bizarre’ and set in an alternative version of the 1890s, the film follows the events which unfold when Henry Godliman – a ‘chronicler of the extraordinary’ – arranges to hear the tales of three sailors, just returned from a long sea voyage. Already unsettled by his surroundings, he has more surprises in store.
You can see the trailer here and there’s more info on IMDb.
If you’re involved in arts and entertainment, please check out Weltch Media to see how we could help.
